ABSTRACT

Regenerative landscape design, while incorporating elements from a family of related professional disciplines such as environmental engineering, ecological restoration, low impact development (LID), and sustainable development, is unique in terms of the relative emphasis it places upon these different attributes (Table 1). Also, regenerative landscape design, in building upon these previous reparative strategies, is often more holistic in its overall outlook, balancing the needs of both nature and people. It is important to distinguish regenerative landscape design from its sibling disciplines.
