ABSTRACT

The use of swine in dental and neurologic research has been relatively uncommon, probably because of the anatomy of the head, neck, and oral cavity (Figure 10.1-Figure 10.10). The skull in Figure 10.3-Figure 10.10 is from a sexually mature boar. Its use in oral and maxillofacial surgery has recently increased (Bermejo et al., 1993; Curtis et al., 2001; Donovan et al., 1993; Drisco et al., 1996; North, 1988; Ouhayoun et al., 1992; Sims et al., 1997).
