Force field or potential energy field: a set of parameters used to calculate the approximate energy of a protein
Genetic algorithms: optimization methods designed after natural evolution. The simulation starts using a large number of states, each of which can mutate or exchange parts with others. Elements with high “fitness” reproduce more effectively, so the next cycle of optimization starts with a population enriched in elements with higher fitness.
