ABSTRACT

Although this handbook considers finite translation planes, it turns out that dual translation planes obtained from translation planes of order q2 with spread in PG(3, q) are always derivable. For instance the associated dual quasifields are 2-dimensional vector spaces over the dual kernel field isomorphic to GF (q). Furthermore, the derived planes are semi-translation planes and often exhibit very interesting properties, including connections to flocks of quadratic cones and the construction technique of algebraic lifting.
