ABSTRACT

In the late 1950s and early 1960s, A.A. Albert wrote several seminal papers on semifield planes and, more particularly, on twisted and generalized twisted field planes (see Albert [22, 23, 24]). In particular, Albert determined the solvability of the autotopism groups of twisted field planes, completely determined the generalized twisted fields whose associated isotopes with unity are commutative and gave exact conditions when two generalized twisted fields coordinatize isomorphic semifield planes.
