ABSTRACT

There are a number of important translation planes of order qn that admit a collineation group isomorphic to SL(2, q). In fact, when n = 2, we have the classification theorem of Foulser-Johnson [378, 379]; see Chapter 47 on actions of PSL(2, q), which details the possible planes, and these are the Desarguesian, Hall, Hering, Ott-Schaeffer, Dempwolff of order 16 and three Walker planes of order 25.
