Chapter 1 contains an explanation of why multidimensional, why nonlinear and why descriptive analysis can respond to practical needs of data analysis. Chapter 2 is devoted to different ways of formulating multidimensional nonlinear descriptive analysis (MUNDA). Chapter 3 provides an extensive historical survey of relevant literature. Chapters 4 and 5 are presented as short summaries of necessary background information.
