ABSTRACT
The discussion of RCTs so far has focused on comparisons of two (or more) groups of patients. The results of the trial will, usually, be generalized to a wider population as defined by the eligibility criteria used when the patients were recruited. As such, the results will be taken to apply equally to all the patients in the trial.
