■ Network Motifs in Developmental, Signal Transduction, and Neuronal Networks

The sensory transcription networks we have studied are designed to rapidly respond to changes in the environment. In this chapter, we will first examine a diἀerent type of transcription network, one that governs the fates of cells as an egg develops into a multi-cellular organism, or more generally as a cell diἀerentiates into a diἀerent type of cell. This type of network is called a developmental transcription network.
