ABSTRACT

Infinite Series An infinite series is a special kind of sequence. Its importance in this study will become more apparent in the last four chapters of the book, where we introduce the Riemann integral, analytic functions, and Lebesgue’s theory of measure and integration. An infinite series, being a sequence, is subject to the convergence properties of sequences, as presented in chapter 3. This chapter is concerned with deriving the corresponding convergence properties of infinite series, including the socalled convergence tests.
