ABSTRACT
This chapter takes a look beyond the inertial confinement fusion (ICF) physics considered before to discuss additional issues that have to be solved in a future ICF power plant. A power station must produce energy at the lowest possible cost. This means the primary objective shifts from demonstrating fusion with the lowest possible energy, to achieving the highest possible gain and plant efficiency.
