ABSTRACT
The Grid, as one might have noticed already, has been more of a matter of evolution than revolution. Many people believe it is the other way around. The Grid is seen as the ultimate “species” of computing to do. Computing has evolved from the vast refrigerated room-sized behemoths, through centralized computing, the World Wide Web, peer-to-peer computing, and the virtualization of underlying technologies.
