Although cybercrime is as old as computers, the ability to carry out serious crimes was enhanced by computer networks, the Internet, and now wireless computing. Here are some of the most common crimes committed using computers and computer networks:
1. Cracking 2. Harassment or cyberstalking 3. Corporate or economic espionage 4. Fraud
5. Child pornography 6. Identity theft 7. Copyright piracy 8. Extortion
These crimes are described in the following subsections.
