ABSTRACT
One of the major challenges with policy research is the generation, specification, and the management of policies. This area has come to be known as policy engineering. This is similar to software engineering that deals with the specification and management of software, and data engineering that deals with the definition and management of data. In this chapter we will focus on policy engineering as it relates to the semantic Web.
