ABSTRACT
The application domains that we will consider include defense and intelligence, homeland security and border control, medical, and financial. For each domain we will describe how trustworthy semantic Web technologies may be applied. The organization of this chapter is as follows. In Section 22.2 we discuss defense and intelligence domains. In Section 22.3 we discuss homeland security and border

patrol. Applications in the medical domain are discussed in Section 22.4. In Section 22.5 we discuss trustworthy semantic Webs for financial domains. It should be noted that semantic Web technologies can be applied to numerous other domains including manufacturing, process control, and entertainment. A discussion of all the domains is beyond the scope of this book. We have selected some domains mainly because they are of interest to us. The chapter is summarized in Section 22.6.
