ABSTRACT

Knowledge-based systems are both harder and easier to audit than your garden-variety computer system. The wind can blow in either direction, depending on what building tools are used. When you build a log cabin, you clear the land and lay the foundation. Log after log is joined together, inching upward to the sky. When it is done, you can walk about, inside and out, rubbing your finger along the neatly stacked logs. You can see at a glance just how the log cabin was made.
