ABSTRACT
Fatty acids obtained from natural renewable resources are important raw materials for nonionic surfactants although a major portion of surface-active agents consumed today in industrialized countries are derived from petrochemical sources. Moreover, a trend to rely more and more on surfactants from naturally renewable resources has developed and is gaining momentum.
