ABSTRACT
It is always wise to check out the machine to be used before installing any tooling. Checks that should be completed by the person ready to install tooling are as follows:
1. Check oil reservoir 2. Check lubricating oil (Trabon or Bijur) 3. Check air pressure 4. Check stripper 5. Turn all selector switches to off on the operators’ panel 6. Set the automatic/manual selector to manual 7. Check all safeties
Once in the manual mode and the hydraulics are turned on, check the stripper, clamp (open-close) table index, manual head cylinder, plasticizer positioning cylinder, tip cooling, and head (on/off) switch. Once the heats are turned on and up to temperature, the screw rotation, injection and decompression should be checked.
