ABSTRACT

The parison design usually establishes the core rod outside dimensions and shape, plus its length and diameter. The major diameter of the core rod (parison inside diameter) must be smaller than the inside neck diameter of the parison to allow for removal of the blown product at the eject station. Once the approved product drawing is provided to you, the processor, and the mold design/builder, the core rod basic design has been set. The overall length of the core rod is the depth of the parison design, less the bottom thickness of the parison. The head combined with the body gives the total length of the core rod to be produced.
