ABSTRACT
Each of the main fi ve electrokinetic phenomena, i.e., electrophoresis, electroosmosis, electroosmotic counter pressure, streaming potential, and migration potential (see Chapter V, and Fig. V-1) can be used to determine the electrokinetic, or ζpotential which, in its turn, serves to calculate ΔGEL. However, only electrophoresis, electroosmosis and streaming potentials, in that order, are of practical importance in ζ-potential determination.
