ABSTRACT
For all electromagnetic radiation the oscillating components of the electric and magnetic fi elds are directed at right angle to each other and to the propagation direction. Because a magnetic fi eld vector of the radiation is unambiguously determined by its electric fi eld vector, the polarization analysis considers only the last one. Here, we shall assume a right-handed Cartesian coordinate system XYZ, with the Z-axis pointing along the direction of propagation.
