ABSTRACT
This chapter will offer some practical advice about the things to consider before starting development of standards-conformant e-learning content. We will discuss data that can be saved in and retrieved from your LMS, what to do with that data within each LO, how to cope with nonstandard data elements, and how to control navigation through courses. Next, we will take a look at future-proofing content to help keep it up-to-date with evolving standards. Finally, we will provide specific information about locating and using the specification documents themselves.
