ABSTRACT
If your company has suppliers or customers, you are part of a supply chain, and your supply chain can encompass a range of different industries employing a variety of different production strategies. This chapter will provide information regarding industries where collaborative manufacturing has application along with a description of different production strategies. There is an effort from many directions to develop industry standards regarding data transfer methods. Some of those standards and the associations behind them are presented.
