ABSTRACT

As earlier forms of collaboration were developed, specific purposes addressed particular business processes and corresponding road maps to implementation. In manufacturing enterprise collaboration, there is a broader but less specific objective: link information from disparate business-system applications to better support business processes. Visibility is a key word. Synchronizing information is a key process. The perspective is holistic information empowerment to better support manufacturing-related business processes within a plant, within a company, or across the extended enterprise.
