ABSTRACT
We agree with the above quotation. QFD has much to recommend it as a tool for design. This chapter builds on our example company, Acme, as a situation where QFD can play a role in supply chain development. As described in retrospect in Chapter 7, it may be difficult to understand how Acme overlooked the shifts in its markets. But Acme’s situation is more the common case than it is the exception. The crush of day-to-day running the business puts the trees in the way of the forest.
