ABSTRACT
The one indispensable element of any clinical trial is the study subject. This chapter will describe techniques of subject recruitment (identifying, screening, and enrolling eligible subjects), subject retention, and subject recognition and rewards. You must recruit only appropriate subjects into the study. Once enrolled, subjects must remain motivated to participate throughout the entire study.
