ABSTRACT
Pyridoxal phosphate (PLP), the physiologically active B6 vitamer, serves as a coenzyme for over 100 different enzymes involved in almost all aspects of cellular biochemistry and metabolism. Vitamin B6 also plays an important role in the development and maintenance of a competent immune system. Because of this versatility, vitamin B6 is crucial for normal growth, development, and homeostasis.
