ABSTRACT
A capacitor consists of two conducting plates separated by a layer of insulating material called the dielectric. The conducting surfaces can be in the form of circular or rectangular plates. The purpose of the capacitor is to store electric energy. In this chapter, the definitions of capacitance for parallel plates, isolated sphere, hollow sphere, parallel plate with a dielectric, as well as composite medium, are presented [1,2].
