ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we consider a variety of ways to mount individual rotationally symmetric lenses in the size range of 10 to 250 mm (0.4 to 10 in.) in diameter. Multiple-lens assemblies are discussed in Chapter 5. Some mountings for larger lenses and for image-forming mirrors are discussed in later chapters. Mountings for individual non-image-forming optics (prisms, flat mirrors, windows, etc.) are considered in Chapters 6 and 7.
