ABSTRACT

This chapter treats the measurements on inductors and transformers. Measurements in high frequency are discussed, as they are the main item in magnetic components for power electronics.

Even if the design of a component is carried out carefully, measurements should be made to check it. Measurements can also be simply imposed by standards. One should be aware of the fact that measurements are always limited in accuracy and that the act of measuring does disturb the measured quantity. When magnetic components are measured in real converters, voltage slopes and high frequency fields can perturb the measurements.
