ABSTRACT
As discussed in Chapter 8, a major part of medical applications require the use of pressure-sensitive
products (PSPs). Some of them are classic constructions with or without a carrier, and a pressure-
sensitive adhesive (PSA), that are manufactured using common procedures; the most promising of
them include the new class of hydrophilic PSAs. Their design and manufacture is sophisticated than
that of common pressure-sensitive products. On the basis of the fundamental features of pressure-
sensitive formulation described in Chapters 4, 5, and 7, this chapter discusses the design of hydro-
phylic PSAs for medical applications.
