ABSTRACT
As the chemical industry moves toward a more sustainable future, green chemistry is slowly emerging as an accepted technology to develop and implement chemical products and processes that eliminate or at least ease the generation of substances that are detrimental to human health and the environment. As such, the polymer industry is beginning to focus on the use of renewable resources, waste management options, and life-cycle assessments as new materials are developed and considered for industrial application.
