ABSTRACT
The effect of magnetic field on the breakdown voltages of gases that are considered as monomers of plasma polymerization is more pronounced, showing more systematic influence of the magnetic field strength. The general trends are shown in Figure 14.16 for C2H4 and in Figure 14.17 for C2H3F. The magnetic field reduces the slope of Vb versus 1/p plots. The stronger the magnetic field, the larger is the extent of reduction.
