ABSTRACT
There are several key success criteria that organizations should meet prior to attempting to accelerate a process improvement effort. If these criteria are not a part of the organizational culture, they should be worked on prior to attempting to attain process maturity or should be an integral part of the maturity effort. Each organization is different so it is incumbent upon the organization to determine if they meet these criteria and the degree to which they are met or need to be met for success.
