On the other hand, the customers downstream saw immediate benefits as pallets and cartons began to arrive with RFID tags. They were readily able to reduce their own data capture and tracking efforts by using the RFID tags to track inventory. Supply Chain for Liquids, in clear contrast, lets everyone participate in the benefit from the very beginning of system usage as long as, like RFID, the effort is coordinated all along the logistics flow. The benefits available to each of the players — producer, distributor, and customer/user — are described in each of Chapters 6, 7, and 8, starting with this chapter on the benefits to the producer.
