ABSTRACT

The distribution system for Supply Chain for Liquids® sits in the middle of the liquid-logistics flow, between the producer and the customer. As described in Chapter 10, the distribution aspect of Supply Chain for Liquids is defined based on the production configuration that precedes it and the customer’s requirements that follow it. That is, distribution is seen as the connector between producer and customer, and so it follows the logistics path defined by those two “ends.” The distribution method adapts itself to its predecessor and follower rather than itself defining the nature of the logistics stream for the product.
