ABSTRACT

The Supply Chain for Liquids® creates opportunities for the liquid products customer or consumer in two major worlds — the world that is and the world that is possible. “The world that is” r efers to the operational improvements, cost savings, and revenue enhancements that Supply Chain for Liquids brings to current operations, including the current sales channels and points of customer interface. “The world that is possible” includes all the opportunities and methods for getting the product to the customer that have not been considered until now simply because the logistics methods in use could not support them. These include new distribution channels and locations, innovative presentation and dispense techniques, and even repositioning products in terms of their usage by consumers. In this chapter, we will take a close look at the Supply Chain for Liquids in terms of each of these worlds.
