ABSTRACT

Batch Control Many liquids can flow through the system without identifying specific batches or lots of product. During the replenishment process, new liquid is added to the liquid that is already in the system to increase the balance of on-hand product. For some liquids, there is no need to segregate the batches or lots. In such cases, the lot number of the major portion of the liquid in the system at any given time might be known, but the specific lot number of any particular portion of the liquid is not useful information. In addition, because the tanks are periodically cleaned, it is possible to know the lot numbers that passed through the tanks since the last cleaning, although not specifically of each quantity of liquid still in the tanks.
