ABSTRACT
The traditional SDLC ends when the system is installed, ignoring the fact that systems are living things that must change to adapt to new business environments and that the longest — and most costly — stage in a system’s life is its post-implementation support. As a result, maintenance should be approached in a structured manner similar to the rest of the SDLC. Use of Six Sigma tools can simplify the process and increase the likelihood of success.
