ABSTRACT
Process maps are the Six Sigma tools used to provide pictorial representations of the sequence of steps in a process. While other maps depict only the tasks or steps, the functional process map clearly illustrates which department or function is responsible for each step. Exhibit B-1 shows the format of a functional process map. The remainder of this appendix outlines the use of a map and explains how to complete each field (Exhibit B-2).
