ABSTRACT
A S mentioned above, the days where natural methods in streams (e.g., the self-purification or pollution attenuation process) automatically compensate for the increase in anthropogenic (man-caused) pollution are over. To ensure that future generations will not have to deal with the devastating effects of surface water contamination, it is important for today's waterlwastewater practitioners to have a basic understanding of the movement of water and the things that affect water quality and quantity.
