ABSTRACT
In 1869, Russian chemist Dmitri Mendeleev put forth the theory of periodicity. Through his work, the first Periodic Table of Elements was developed. His efforts were the beginning of the understanding of the concept of elements, which led to the understanding of compounds, or what we refer to today as hazardous materials.
