ABSTRACT
Most of the students took the exam very seriously, carefully examining the feet protruding from each box. Some shook the boxes when no one was looking, hoping to get some response from the bird to help in the identification. But one student became more and more frustrated and angry. When the time was up, this student confronted the professor and strongly stated his opinion that the exam was one of the dumbest ideas he’d ever heard of, that it was unreasonable to
test students in this way, that the entire course was worthless and that the professor was incompetent to teach the subject.
