ABSTRACT
For understanding the universe writ large-the fabric of spacetime, the nature of gravity, and the overall shape of the cosmos-Einstein’s general theory of relativity is what you need. It is the fundamental science of the monumentally huge. But for understanding what the universe contains-molecules, atoms, subatomic particles, photons-you need quantum mechanics, the fundamental science of the infinitesimally tiny.
