ABSTRACT

A first examination of the bomb damage from December showed that GEMA had had luck in its misfortune. The buildings used for testing, assembly and research had received the most serious damage. As a result of moving almost the entire laboratory to Wahlstatt, the development activities remained intact, but production of rotatable bases for the Luftwaffe and Navy was reduced by 20% as a result of the damage received by the assembly hall. Within a few weeks this had been made up by an acceleration in the use of the plant in Lauban, with the prospect of an increase in production.
