Krantz, Steven There is not even a universally accepted definition of the term “fractal”. It seems that if one does not prove theorems (as, evidently, fractal geometers do not), then one does not need definitions. One notable difference between fractal geometry and calculus is that fractal geometry has not solved any problems. It is not even clear that it has created any new ones.
