ABSTRACT

In the previous chapters, we have considered a variety of models taking into account different features of the population dynamics of invasive species. However, one important factor, namely, the impact of inter-species interactions, has not been addressed yet. Meanwhile, there is considerable evidence that the impact of other species can significantly modify the rate and pattern of exotic species spread. The problem is that the nonlinear models including more than one dynamical variable are usually much more difficult for rigorous mathematical analysis. In particular, only very few exact solutions are known that possess a clear biological meaning. Two of them will be considered below.
