ABSTRACT
This chapter aims to study the existence of global weak solutions for the nonlinear hyperbolic conservation laws with initial data. It gives the proof of the existence of viscosity solutions for the Cauchy problem. The chapter constructs classes of entropy-entropy flux pair of Lax type of the special forms. It uses the compensated compactness method to prove the existence of weak solutions of the Cauchy problem.
