ABSTRACT
The behavior of a structure in natural environmental conditions is important to consider in designing the structure with enough safety and function. This section focuses on the structure of a mobile offshore unit and its related marine facilities such as semisubmersible rigs, TLPs, pontoons, FPSO vessels with riser pipes and mooring lines (position-keeping facilities), and so on. Natural environmental conditions consist mainly of wind, waves, and current.
