ABSTRACT

In the simplest case, data obtained by measurement of human locomotion may be directly presented in a way suitable to the user, e.g., by plotting the time course of a measured variable. In general, however, “raw” measurement data have to be subjected to certain processing in order to be transformed into a form suitable for presentation and interpretation. The methods described in this book differ significantly with regard to the kinds of physical transformations of signals (as well as numericallogical transformation of information), but a unique flow of information is established in all of them: starting with measurement, processing, and on to presentation, i.e., display of data.
